Join the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space Saturday at 3pm for our Gardens & Sustainability walking tour. The tour takes you through Manhattan’s Lower East Side, an area that has the highest concentration of community gardens and squats of any neighborhood in the country. You’ll learn about the history of these community spaces and the sustainable ideas that came from them. So come explore these cutting-edge, sustainable buildings and spaces on this one-of-a-kind, full-access walking tour.
Start at the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space, located at 155 Avenue C, between E. 9th and E. 10th St., costs $20 and is led by local residents who have witnessed the neighborhood’s activist history and thriving community spirit firsthand. The tour requires a minimum three people, and lasts for about two hours.
