LES History Month is proud to organize the first ever LES Volunteer Fair!

This fair is a free and open platform for local cultural institutions to connect with residents and visitors who would like to donate their time and skills to supporting the fabric of the neighborhood! All participating organizations are LES based and have created programs in which people can develop their creative expressions while exploring the richness that is in the Lower East Side.

FABnyc’s Risa Shoup offers her own enthusiasm – “Personally, I have always enjoyed volunteering in neighborhoods I’ve lived in and for issues and organizations I care about. But sometimes, it can be difficult to find time in our busy lives to find out what organizations are out there and what activities there are to offer for us to best make use of our skills and time. I’m really excited for this Volunteer Fair on so many levels! Not only is it a great event to pair individuals with institutions, we all get to meet face-to-face with one another, talk about interests, and as we know, forming strong social relationships with the people we see working in our neighborhood motivates us to care and give our time to local concerns. ”

We hope to see you this SATURDAY, May 14, 11AM-2PM at the Manny Cantor Center! Discover enjoyable, fulfilling opportunities and support programming for institutions working in the Lower East Side!
